I straighten my hair everyday with the chi and now all of a sudden my hair is really dry not only from the hair straightener but from the summer heat, sun, and water. Does anyone know an easy inexpensive way or treatment to help my hair? How can i turn my damaged hair from dry to smooth and shiny?
Don't straighten your hair every day - you're just heaping damage on top of damage and hair, being dead, can't be fixed. You can only use oily products to bind the damaged cuticle back down onto the hair shaft. The only way to ';repair'; your hair is to let the damage grow out, cut it off, and then stop hurting it. All the olive oil, mayonnaise, special shampoos/conditioners, etc. will only make it look better temporarily until it gets so damaged that it starts breaking off.
See if you can work with your stylist to find a hair style that suits you and allows you to use minimal heat stylers. How can i turn my damaged hair from dry to smooth and shiny?
use TRESemme Straightening Gel, and Biolage 'Dry and Damaged Hair' Conditioner.
stop straightneing your hair for a month and a half or else your hair will start falling out.
start using ';mane and tail'; shempoo and conditioner... it works!!!
Sleep in conditioner. Regular trims. Try Pantene products, serum, mousse. Blowdry with a natural bristle round brush.
After shampooing and conditioning, rinse with the coolest possible water.
Use warm olive oil and put it on dry hair (not wet, it won't work well). Leave it on for as long as you like and then wash it out.
This is called the ';hot oil treatment.';
Models do this... apply olive oil and honey to dry hair, leave in 30 minutes, rinse with cool water. Stop blow drying on hot and let hair dry naturally on the ends before blowing dry on cool. If possible, don't blow dry at all. And use Dove Therapy! Works wonders in a week!
you should have used hair serum/protector before u striaghtened ur hair. to restore it, it costs A LOT of money. u have to see a hair stylist for it. either that or stop striaghtening ur hair.
Olive oil or mayonnaise are kinda cheap, but the best is to buy a boar bristle brush and use it daily. It is your hair and worth the money to keep it nice!!!!
Everyday!! Now you know not to straighten your hair that much, that's really bad and damaging to your hair. Straighten it maybe once a week or once every other week but for now you might have to go for even less than that. And when you do, use a heat protector spray. Get a deep conditioning or oil treatment done, they're available at just about any salon. Shouldn't cost more than $30-$40. Also, every night before you wash your hair, rub some light olive oil into your hair and scalp, focusing on your ends. Put a shower cap (used solely for this purpose) on and wash out the next day. A lot of organic stores or health food stores sell natural herbal shampoos that are very gentle on the hair. You should use them.
just let your new roots of hair grow out
and there
to cut the damage off. my hair was in rough damage shape. I got short hair ever. boy-ish hate the shortness but its healthy now and grows alot better if you keep the damage. use heat protecting spray when straightening your hair and use damage shampoo
use a heat protecter spray on your hair, stop heat styling if possible, use deep conditioning mask, cut off damaged hair, or get regular trims until the damage is gone. also don't use too much alcohol (like in hairspray), only wash when it's starting to look really greasy, and make sure that you don't use too much conditioner because contrary to popular belief, too much conditioner will make you're hair worse, not better. you could also try a leave in conditioner since it is designed for staying in your hair, it will keep your hair looking decent.
dove makes this shampoo and conditioner i think its called damage controll and it really helps
Hope i helped :-)
Yess i do. My friend has the SAME problem, But you can go too wal mart, those kind of stores, and go too hair [[ or coarse]] and then get VERY good shampooo and conditioner, then get a VERY nice straightning iron. do NOT use the blow dryer though, Those get your hair like that.
Try using a conditioner every other day. I use Pantene extra straight conditioner and it makes my hair really smooth, straight and shiny.
