I wash my hair every morning because it gets greasy so quickly. Then I blow dry and straighten my hair without using any products.
My hair is starting to look extremely brittle. And it doesn't help that i've got fine hair.
How can I rescue my hair? And look after it in these horrid winter months?
Thanks in advance :)What are the best products to use for heat damaged hair please?
Hi!
Firstly, it's important to get it cut regularly so that any damaged and split hair will be cut away, and its surprising how cutting regularly can actually make your hair feel 'fuller', especially if you have fine hair. My hair has a natural curl but like yourself, if I leave it to its own devices, it goes frizzy. For a 'quick fix', try using something like VO5 hot oil - it is a little plastic bottle of oils which you place in a cup to warm through and then work through your hair, leave on for several minutes and then wash out. I wash my hair everyday and I find that by using a conditioner each time helps to combat the problem. I use Tresemme Moisture Rich conditioner and before drying I also put on either Boots Coconut Leave In Condtioner, which comes in a little spray bottle, or Toni and Guy Rapid Response Leave In Conditioner which is a creamy conditioner that helps to both condition your hair and protect it.
You could also try leaving your hair without a wash over the weekend if you aren't going out anywhere. I know it feels horrible, especially when you are used to washing it each day, but if you leave it for say twenty four hours without a wash, this will allow the natural oils in your scalp to condition both your scalp and your hair, thus making it feel healthier.
Hope this helps. What are the best products to use for heat damaged hair please?
You definitely need to use a heat protection spray when blow drying and straightening your hair.
I'd recommend Chi 44 Iron Guard. It comes in a red bottle, and you can buy it at drug stores.
Just spray some onto your hair before using heat styling tools :]
Also, get the ends trimmed every 4-6 weeks. That way, you can get rid of dead and dry ends.
Finally, use Dove Heat Therapy shampoo and conditioner. It reallly helps with dry, damaged hair!

Jamelia conditioner works wonders. I strongly recommend it.
