What is a good relaxer to use on damaged hair?

My hair broke from a bad perm at my last salon (I think the relaxer was old). It has been six weeks. What kind of relaxer can I get that will not do more damage? What is a good relaxer to use on damaged hair?
jus stop relaxing it but a really good one is olive oilWhat is a good relaxer to use on damaged hair?
You should wait awhile before putting another relaxer in and let your hair grow out awhile without the relaxer and repair. (as they say). When my hair breaks out and I want another relaxer in my hair waht I do (what I don't recommend) is go to my hair salon have them cut out the damage in my hair, relax it and put a deep conditioner in, and then cut it shot (I wear a short style). Good Luck.
Um..if you're hair is damaged, DON'T use a relaxer! Press your hair until it gets back healthy. You'll only screw your hair up more.

I haven't used a relaxer in almost five years. You CAN live without a perm. I even work out three times a week, too. Hair sweats out a bit, but at least its healthy, ya know?
I would still wait a little longer but if you are going to the salon mizani and Affirm are good relaxers and if you are doing it at home make sure you use a mild relaxer but you should probably wait. I know its torture but you dont want to be bald headed do you ?
Hair breakage, hair thinning, lack of hair growth, scalp irritation, scalp damage, hair loss. These are just some of the complaints from many who experience problems due to the misuse of chemical hair relaxers. In fact, the FDA lists hair straighteners and hair dyes among its top consumer complaint areas. Yet, in so many stores around the country, chemicals are available for everyone to use, without much instruction, a powerful process which transforms the very chemical makeup of the hair strand. Before beginning any hair treatment, especially one that introduces chemicals to your hair, you owe it to yourself to be well informed. Armed with a better understanding of this process, you will be able to make good decisions with regard to hair and scalp care.

Sodium Hydroxide is the strongest type of principal chemical used in some chemical relaxers because it provides the most long lasting and dramatic effects. However, this same sodium hydroxide is found in drain cleaners which well demonstrates the strength of this chemical. It is what is used in products that are referred to as “lye” relaxers. The strength varies from a ph factor of 10 to 14. With higher ph, the faster the straightening solution will take hold, but the more potential the damage.

How can chemicals “relax”, or straighten hair? Well first of all, as assumed, the chemical would need to be potent enough to do so. Both lye and “no lye” relaxers are very strong chemicals that work in the same manner by changing the basic structure of the hair shaft. The chemical penetrates the cortex or cortical layer (see illustration) and loosens the natural curl pattern. This inner layer of the hair shaft is not only what gives curly hair its shape but provides strength

Best suggestion is see a specailist or give your hair a break with putting in some braids for a few weeks to let it relax before you relax it further.
You can't use a relaxer on damage hair. You will have to get your hair back into shape before applying a relaxer to it.
None. It will only make matters much worse.Try some deep conditioning, and wet set styles for a while.Just until you get your hair back in check.Good luck.
I would wait it out a little to let your hair grown out and go to a different salon. They are professionals and should know when to use the perm and when it is old.
